Happy Little Riders!

It was such a beautiful evening that we took the kids out for a bike ride around the neighbourhood and to the park.  Luka is strong enough now to sit safely in the bike trailer.  They are so cute riding along!!

End Of Summer

My father in law emailed me some photos that I requested from an end-of-summer visit to the cottage.  My heart was on the verge of exploding from happiness because I had not just my sister Meghan, but also my dad visiting.
In the first picture Julia looks not quite like herself - her eyes are too shut.  I do, however, catch a glimpse of what she'll look like when she's 5 or so.
The above picture of Meghan reminds me of her when she was 7 or 8.  My mom says that she used to practice her smile before Picture Day.  It looks like it paid off!!!

The next photo is similar to ones that I posted a few weeks ago but I like this one better because both kids are smiling or almost smiling.  Whenever Julia gets cozy to Luka like that she says "we're buddies".
How many chins do you count in this picture!?!?   Luka is channeling his bullfrog ancestors.  It's great to have a baby who is actually chubby. Julia was always such a little pencil.
That's all for now folks.  I've got some kids to play with!

Mother and Son

The picture above is of me, taken at some point in 1977.  The pictures below are of Luka, taken today at 5 1/2 months.  Do you see a family resemblance?   My head is a bit more shaped like a box and his eyes aren't quite so big.    I just love that boy!!!!!!!!!

Life With Luka

Here are some pictures taken yesterday.  We are unintentionally color coordinated!

Little Luka cracks us up with his facial expressions.  He's just so funny to watch!  Here he is gnawing on a baby cereal bar:

Today!

Here are some pictures from this morning that I am putting up specifically for my mom.  First we have Luka who is wearing Julia's flea marked necklace.  She put it on him and was thrilled with herself.

Julia getting ready to head to head over to Sarah's house. She's so proud of her new hoodie that Maymay and Nanu gave her.  "It even has pockets and a hood!"

Here she is trying so hard to put her hood on:

Time Machine: 2009

This is a video clip from Thanksgiving 2009.  Over the past few days I have been converting all of our home video from DVD to an external hard drive so I'll have easier access to video clips and such.  I'm getting a real kick out of re-visiting what Julia was like when she was Luka's age.  Here she is within a week or two of his current age.

Grand Manan 2011

Good Day!  I'm trying to adopt the attitude that any pictures are better than no pictures.  I keep waiting for the ideal moment to sit down and do some blog posts but it's about time that I learn that with two kids there is no such thing as an ideal moment.  Hopefully this approach will lead to more postings.

We spent this past weekend on Grand Manan with the Bray side of the family.  We stayed in the same lovely heritage home that we were in last year.  There's a cross stitch on the wall that is almost 200 years old done by a 9 year old girl!  The weather was wonderful and a good time was had by all.  Here are some pictures:

Poor Luka had some cream from a Boston Cream pie on his nose and he wasn't too happy about it:
Here I am wiping it off.   We were waiting to board the ferry.

 Visiting Swallowtail lighthouse:
The path to the lighthouse goes over the little bridge and down a path.  It's a nice little walk although it was chilly!

Some island wind!  Check out these funny shots of our hair blowing in the wind.  The one of me really cracks me up.
All in all the weekend was like stepping back in time.  It's nice to get a break from civilization for a bit.  Looking forward to our next visit.
